Discovery of Corcovado
Corcovado National Park is a national park located on the Osa Peninsula in southwestern Costa Rica and is part of the Osa Conservation Area. It was created on October 24, 1975, and covers an area of 42,560 hectares on land and 3,354 hectares at sea. It is considered a very important part of the country's extensive system of national parks and biological reserves. The biological diversity is astonishing. National Geographic called it "the most biologically intense place on Earth" and it is estimated that no other place in the world (of similar size) has such biological diversity.
The park was nominated in 2003 for World Heritage status and is on UNESCO's "tentative list" in the natural heritage category

Exploring the Mangrove
Mangrove is a coastal wetland ecosystem including a group of specific, mainly woody plants that grow only in the intertidal zone of low-lying tropical coasts. Mangrove swamps are also found at the mouths of some rivers, and very exceptionally in fresh water. It is one of the fourteen major terrestrial biomes defined by the WWF.
Mangroves provide benefits to populations in terms of food security, coastal protection against wave assault, and carbon storage. They also contribute to reducing the risk of natural disasters related to climate change.
These particular environments provide important resources (forestry and fisheries) for the populations living on these coasts. Mangroves are among the most productive ecosystems in terms of biomass on our planet. The most notable woody species are mangroves with their pneumatophores and prop roots.

Jungle at night
When night falls over the Costa Rican jungle, another world awakens.
Under the glow of lamps, every sound becomes a mystery, every movement an unexpected encounter.
Fluorescent frogs, hypnotic insects, furtive glances in the darkness... nature reveals its most fascinating side.
It's a unique sensory immersion, where adrenaline mixes with wonder.
A rare, almost surreal experience, one that is never forgotten.

The Mangrove at Night
When the tide recedes in Costa Rica, the mangrove reveals a whole new face. Gliding between the submerged roots, you enter a living labyrinth where the black water reflects the stars. Here, everything is more discreet, slower, almost hypnotic... until a glimmer of light shines on the surface. An intimate, fascinating exploration into the heart of a unique ecosystem.
